My message to another teacher was rejected

Modified on Mon, 30 Mar at 3:18 PM

Sometimes you may send a message to another teacher and you receive this message back:

This is an automated confirmation — your message was delivered. However, the system is also letting you know that the way you sent it caused it to be processed as an untracked, fallback delivery.

Why did this happen?

ReachMyTeach uses special email addresses (ending in @schools.reachmyteach.com) to route messages between parents, guardians, and teachers. If you create a new message (or reply to a forwarded message) to a teacher and use their @schools.reachmyteach.com account, we do not know who this student is about so we can not include it in our system.

How do I prevent this in the future?

To avoid receiving this notification again, do one of the following:

Option 1 — Use the ReachMyTeach portal

Log in at https://ReachMyTeach.com and send or reply to messages directly through the platform. This guarantees the system properly tracks the conversation.

Option 2 — Reply to the most recent notification email

If you received a fresh email notification from ReachMyTeach, reply to that specific email rather than composing a new message or replying to an older one. The most recent notification always contains a valid, up-to-date tracking code.

Option 3 — Contact teachers directly using school email

For teacher-to-teacher communication, use your colleague's school district email address (not their @schools.reachmyteach.com address). Your school's IT department or directory can provide the correct address.

Was my original message received?

Yes. Despite the unusual routing, the system successfully forwarded your message to the teacher. No action is needed to resend it.
