Dismissal Tracker - Default vs Override

Modified on Thu, 28 May at 10:39 AM

Default Dismissal Plan

A default is the student’s normal, standing dismissal option.

Examples:

  • Bus route
  • Walker
  • Parent pickup

Defaults are commonly sourced from transportation or student-information-system data.

If no override exists, the system uses the default option.

Override Dismissal Plan

An override temporarily replaces the student’s default dismissal option.

Common Override Types

One-Time Override

Applies to a single date.

Example:

  • Parent pickup today only

Regular Override

Applies on a recurring or ongoing schedule.

Example:

  • After-school care every Tuesday and Thursday

How to Create an Override

  1. Open the Overrides tab
  2. Search for and select the student
  3. Choose the override type:
    • One-Time
    • Regular
  4. Select the dismissal option
  5. Enter effective dates
  6. Add notes or reasons if required
  7. Save the override
  8. Verify the override appears in the Daily View
