Issue Summary:
Emails sent to Gmail addresses from ReachMyTeach were delivered but were frequently routed to recipients’ spam folders. This impacted message visibility for some users.
Cause:
Our email provider identified an upstream deliverability issue that was affecting how Gmail filtered messages from multiple platforms. The incident was external to ReachMyTeach systems.
Impact:
Some Gmail users may have missed important communications during the incident window if they did not check their spam folders. All messages were sent successfully but were not always surfaced in inboxes.
Timeline:
-
March 24: Initial reports indicated that Gmail users were finding messages in spam.
-
March 24, 7:08 PM: A fix was deployed by our provider to address the filtering behavior, and recovery was monitored.
-
March 24, 10:11 PM: The provider confirmed full resolution.
Next Steps:
-
No action is needed from users at this time.
-
If high-priority messages were sent during the affected period, we recommend resending or following up with Gmail recipients.
-
Our team will continue to monitor and stay aligned with our provider on ongoing deliverability performance.
