Over the years, ReachMyTeach has developed some helpful tips from educators and families alike that might find useful in boosting family engagement:
- If you're not getting a response from a parent via email, consider giving text messaging a try. It can lead to a higher response rate and is often more convenient for parents.
- Don't be afraid to switch things up and try a different communication method, like WhatsApp or text-to-speech. It's always good to offer options to parents and see what works best for them.
- It's always a good idea to double-check that families are receiving your messages. Sometimes, a typo in a phone number or email address can cause issues. However, don't worry too much if this happens - ReachMyTeach will automatically try to reach the parent through a communication method that is working if an email or phone number fails.
- Sometimes parents don't know a response is needed. Try to add a question at the end of your message. For all families the greatest responses will come when that question can be answered with a "yes" or a "no".
